greek turkey burgers

i wish there was some way i could force you to make this recipe. it turned out so much better than i had hoped. seriously.. i called people to tell them about it before i was even done with my first one. oh, and i ate more than one. this is actually my second helping.. and i had run out of bread.

greek turkey burgers

  • 1lb ground turkey
  • 1 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped olives (i used green olives, but if you’re feeling fancy, or especially greek, spring for kalamata)
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ground pepper to taste (we like our pepper.. added quite a bit)

combine all ingredients in a large bowl. form into 4 patties. grill (or whatever). i heated up some olive oil in a pan, browned the patties on one side, flipped them, and let them cook the rest of the way. serve with ripe roma tomatoes and red onion.

(recipe from here)

they were sensational. i still can’t stop thinking about them. next time i’ll make tzatziki, and maybe even try my hand at homemade pita bread.
