coming soon!

baby #2 is expected to arrive sometime around 2.14.2010
and we couldn’t be more thrilled : ). i think this time is so much more exciting for both of us because we know what we’re in for, to a certain extent. we know that the joys of parenthood far outweigh the trials.. that the lord is gracious in the midst of sleeplessness/etc.. and that nothing beats a securely swaddled newborn in your arms. we don’t have that nagging first-timer anxiety. it’s amusing to consider that casey hadn’t held a newborn before penelope when i see him caring so well for her now.
baby blueberry is already causing trouble. i had my first appointment yesterday (with a new doc/midwife) and was reunited with my old friend zofran. the doc wrote me a funny perscription when he assessed how dehydrated and malnourished i was– dispense maximum allowed by insurance with 999 refils. he doesn’t mess around, i guess. zofran is a pretty faithful friend. regular dosage transforms me from a sick lump of uselessness on the couch or bathroom floor, to a slightly seasick wife and mommy, most days. i’m still not always able to eat, play, or care for the fam like i’d want to, but i guess my body is otherwise occupied. worthy tradeoff, i’d say!
one of my favorite parts of pregnancy has already begun– talking about names! we’ve decided to wait to find out the gender till the delivery room (perhaps the suspense will help spur me on to a successful vbac?) so that means we need to decide on at least two. i can hardly contain my excitement : ). i suppose it’s not fair to talk about it when i’m not willing to share more details… but trust me… the lists are shaping up quite nicely.
we get to see baby for the first time at my next appointment, in three weeks. i’ll post a picture then.
…oh and for those of you that are keeping track, penelope and baby will be 22 months apart. i am seven weeks along. crazy fun : )

I don’t think we have to tell you how excited we are. Hooray! :)
Yay! Congratulations! I feel the same way about not having the same anxieties I had the first time (especially regarding labor). Now come the anxieties about parenting two kids…:).
so exciting! congratulations!!
Baby blueberry is tiny. Fearfully and wonderfully made! God is good!! I forgot all the fun fruit comparisons. Every step, even though not always comfortable is a blessing and a gift!! Such great news!! Looking forward to the first pictures. Praying for you three!
twins?
I like your dad’s idea, that would be crazy! We are so excited and can’t wait for Valentine’s Day, or Valentime’s Day as my second graders call it. They even like to argue with me that I’m pronouncing it wrong. It will be a lot of fun to see how everything pans out…yaaa!!!
So exciting!!! A and E are 19 1/2 months apart and so far, so good (granted, it’s only been 9 days, hahaha). But what a blessing at any time!
YAY!!! You won’t be able to resist sharing at least some of the names that you have on your list! right??? haha!
so so excited for you guys! praying for your health as well as baby #2! :) can’t wait til 2/2010!!!!
Congrats! So excited for you guys! And you have WAY more patience than I do about not finding out the gender! Hope it all goes well for you – and hope the Zofran keeps working!
Hey, the old fashioned way! Back in “the old days” we never knew what we were having….. This is very exciting news – Just wish we lived closer so we could get to know our great grandchildren…. Lots of love from GG Barb
How awesome!!
of all the Sunday nights to miss…o well. We are very excited for you. P will make a great BIG sister:) If you need any help watching her, just let me know.
Okay so you’re 7 1/2 weeks and I think we’re all due for your first belly shot, or tummy shot if that sounds better! You’ll probably be popping out by the time you get here. So fun, hope the medicine is making you feel better :)
Whoa!!!! I didn’t realize that you had changed blogs, so I “stumbled” across your new one.
And what news!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!! :-D :-D
Yay!! Congratulations!! :)
I know this is quite late, but congratulations! 22 months apart is super fun (thats what Noah and Autumn are!) and 2 is twice the fun, and the mischief! :) So excited for you, hope you aren’t feeling to sicko!
